Our Story
The story of Willowbank,
a riverside venue on the Murray at Albury.
Origin
How Willowbank
came to be
We're the Grays, and we've farmed this bend of the Murray for four generations. Willowbank is a working farm first. Up to 200 head of cattle, around 300 acres, and four and a half kilometres of river. But people have been gathering here for as long as anyone can remember, and we think of ourselves as custodians more than owners.

Before it was
Willowbank
The farmhouse was here before the family arrived, built in the 1880s as best we can tell. Down at the bend, the event beach had an older name: Brighton Beach. From the 1880s to the 1920s it's where Albury came to swim. The doctors, the solicitors, the clergy. It was simply the best spot on the river. Still is.

Types of Events at Willowbank
There are four ways to celebrate at Willowbank:
1. Weddings and Receptions
2. Corporate Events
3. Riverside Camping
4. Sessions by The River
Weddings and Receptions
Get married on the river.
No two weddings here look the same, and that's the point. Say your vows by the water, gather up to 250 at the old Brighton Beach or 200 under cover in the Weigh Shed, and make the day yours. We keep weddings enquiry-only and help you work out the rest.

Corporate Events
Take the team somewhere they'll remember.
A day on the farm beats a function room. AGMs, launches, conferences, gala dinners, the Christmas party. All of it works down here, and all of it's built to fit. Licensed bar, catering and a shuttle from Albury can all be arranged. Enquiry-only, so start with a message.

Camping
Wake up on the Murray.
This is proper camping. No powered sites, no amenities block, no fuss. Just four and a half kilometres of private Murray frontage and a lot of quiet. Byron drops firewood to your site and usually stays for a yarn about the place.

Sessions by The River
Once a month, we open the gate to everyone.
Monthly pop-ups on the river with local eateries and wineries. Daytime or night, good food, a few wines, music by the water. It's the one place in Albury and Wodonga you can have a drink on the river, and no two Sessions are ever the same.

The best bit isn't on this page.
You've read the story. The best of Willowbank, though, is the part a screen can't give you: the quiet, the water, and the room to breathe. Come and stand on the bank and you'll feel it. Whether it's a wedding, a corporate day, a Session or a night's camping, the best place to start is a message, and we'll take it from there.
