Camp at Willowbank on the Murray
This is proper camping: around 300 acres of working farm, with roughly five kilometres of private Murray River frontage and room to spread out. No powered sites, no amenities block. To book a site you'll need to bring your own toilet. It's a working farm, not a caravan park. Firewood to buy so you can light a fire when the weather and fire bans allow, and Byron drops the firewood to your site and usually stays for a yarn about the place.
Fish, kayak, swim, paddleboard, or just watch the birds. There's plenty for kids in the designated areas, and the river does most of the entertaining. Four sites sit along the river:
- The River Bend. Grass sloping gently down to the water, with big river views and easy swimming.
- The Red River Gums. A flat, grassy spot high on the bank, shaded by two huge red river gums.
- The Willows. Sloping down to the Murray's edge, with weeping willows and a sandy swimming spot.
- The Crossing. Secluded and private, with absolute river frontage, out in a cattle paddock.
